According to the IADB, the project consists of support the Government of Peru in accelerating the closure of energy access and security gaps in the Peruvian Amazon. The specific objectives of this Technical Cooperation are: (a) to strengthen the information base of the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM) to optimize investment planning aimed at closing energy access gaps in rural communities of the Peruvian Amazon; and (b) to develop specialized technical studies to identify the most appropriate and sustainable technologies to provide energy access in these communities, taking into account their geographic, social, and economic conditions.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IADB
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project.
