The general objective of the Technical Cooperation (TC) is to strengthen the institutional capacity of Banco de la Nacion (BN) in Peru to accelerate its digital transformation. The specific objectives include: (i) strengthening the BN's institutional capacities through knowledge sharing and the identification of good practices from other Public Development Banks (PDBs) in digital transformation processes; (ii) technically supporting the execution of Operation 5965/OC-PE, which includes the development and implementation of a methodology to monitor and evaluate the digital transformation process; (iii) developing a decarbonization plan, optimizing the reduction of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions associated with the BN's digital transformation, in line with global sustainability goals; (iv) promoting sustainable economic growth by strengthening the digital capacities of the public financial sector, enabling a more efficient and secure provision of financial services for citizens and businesses; (v) reducing inequality and promoting financial inclusion by improving access to formal banking services for vulnerable populations through the digitalization and modernization of BN operations; and (vi) disseminate the main findings and lessons learned during the execution of the CT and the loan operation, strengthening continuous learning and process improvement in future interventions.
ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IADB
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IIC is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment.
