Project Description

According to bank's website, the proposed project aims to align with and operationalizes the Government of Rwanda's AgriConnect Compact, a country-level initiative structured around seven pillars to accelerate Rwanda's transition to a modern, market-led agrifood system. MADAP is a multi-sectoral investment operation focused on improving competitiveness of the value chains that have been prioritized by the AgriConnect Compact, including maize, rice, avocado, chili, Irish potato, dairy, poultry, and piggery, through an integrated combination of productive alliance facilitation, climate-resilient irrigation infrastructure, and agricultural finance de-risking mechanisms. The project is anchored in Rwanda's Vision 2050 and the Second National Strategy for Transformation (NST 2), and is designed to crowd in private sector investment while strengthening the policy and institutional enabling environment for agribusiness development.

Early Warning System Project Analysis
