Project Description

According to bank's website, the proposed project aims to support more and better jobs through inclusive and sustainable investments in Ghana's oil palm value chain by expanding access to long-term patient capital and addressing key constraints to private investment. The operation will deploy catalytic financing mechanisms to de-risk early-stage investments, mobilize private capital, and enable the development of inclusive, sustainable, and commercially viable plantation, processing, and value chain assets.FINPALM will combine catalytic financing and targeted enabling interventions to improve investment readiness, including support for FPIC-compliant land access and structuring, smallholder integration through financially viable anchor-outgrower models, and strengthened value chain coordination and market linkages. It will also support the resolution of key policy and market constraints, including regulatory issues and market distortions that undermine incentives for domestic production and investment. The operation contributes to implementation of the Ghana Agriconnect Compact by advancing the Compact's objectives for sector transformation through private investment mobilization, value addition, access to finance, and employment creation.
