Project Description

According to the WB, the Project Development Objective is to improve and increase sustainable energy services in public infrastructure and households

The project will support investments in clean energy, energy efficiency and energy poverty reduction through (i) increased efficient and clean energy in public facilities (including municipal street lighting, health facilities and education facilities) across the country in urban areas and vulnerable rural communities through measures such as energy efficient street lighting, energy efficient indoor lighting, energy efficient air conditioning, thermal insulation, solar rooftop PV, and solar water heaters; and (ii) deployment of efficient cookstoves in vulnerable households, as well as (iii) solar rooftop PV in vulnerable households. These investments with be complemented by support to strengthen capacities and the energy efficiency regulatory environment, along with the development of Mexico's energy efficiency and energy services market.
