Project Description

According to bank's website, the proposed project aims to support the implementation of Morocco's Employment Roadmap, contributing to the Government's objective of fostering inclusive and sustainable job creation. The operation will focus in particular on the Roadmap's key pillars: (i) strengthening active labor market policies and expanding access to quality on-the-job training opportunities; (ii) streamlining and unifying active labor market programs to improve coherence and impact; (iii) reinforcing the institutional and operational capacity of ANAPEC; (iv) reducing structural and institutional barriers to women's labor force participation; and (v) enhancing the relevance, quality, and responsiveness of the vocational training system.The operation will aim to improve both the outreach and effectiveness of ANAPEC's active labor market programs and employment services, as well as OFPPT's vocational training initiatives, with a focus on better alignment with labor market needs and improved insertion outcomes. In parallel, the project will strengthen the governance framework underpinning the Employment Roadmap by enhancing the coordination, monitoring, and evaluation capacities of MIEPEEC. This will include support to improve the production, accessibility, and analytical use of labor market information systems to enable evidence-based policymaking and more effective program implementation.
