According to bank's website, the proposed project aims to support Bancomext (public development bank) in expanding access to long term finance for investment sub-projects in Mexico's lagging regions. Specifically, the project will (i) finance investment sub-projects undertaken by private SMEs and mid-cap companies in states and municipalities classified as areas of low economic dynamism; and (ii) support institutional strengthening of Bancomext and beneficiary firms. In line with the main objectives of the Government's high level development strategy (Plan Mexico), the project will support crowding in private capital, building export-oriented value chains and creation of more and better jobs in less developed parts of Mexico.
