Project Description
If provided by the financial institution, the Early Warning System Team writes a short summary describing the purported development objective of the project and project components. Review the complete project documentation for a detailed description.

According to bank's website, the approved project aims to build on investments being made under the current water Project for resilience and water security for Comoros. It will expand the current scope and include both water and sanitation investments, and geographically expand beyond the capital city of Moroni to include investments in Anjouan and Moheli islands. Building on the pillars of the parent MPA, the project will have a deliberate focus on leveraging regional knowledge and innovation to enhance sector reforms, governance and service delivery. The project will also support preparatory activities for potential interventions on solid waste management, which negatively impacts water quality, human health and tourism, all of which are critical elements for prosperity.

Early Warning System Project Analysis
For a project with severe or irreversible impacts to local community and natural resources, the Early Warning System Team may conduct a thorough analysis regarding its potential impacts to human and environmental rights.
