The development objective of the First Job Creation and Fiscal Sustainability Development Policy Financing for Ecuador is to support the Government of Ecuador in implementing key policy reforms aimed to strengthen fiscal sustainability, and to promote private sector engagement in selected sectors. The operation supports reforms in the economic and institutional pillars of the country's National Development Plan (NDP) 2025-2029 and is aligned with the Country Partnership Framework (CPF) priorities. The implementation of the World Bank Group's (WBG's) country program for Ecuador in recent years offers lessons that have been considered in preparing the Development Policy Financing (DPF). The operation is aligned with the maximizing finance for development (MFD) approach and contributes to the WBG Corporate Scorecard Indicator on total private capital enabled (PCE).
