According to bank's website, the approved project aims to unlock the productive potential of STP's youth by strengthening the institutional foundations for more and better jobs while expanding pathways to quality employment in a changing global labor market. It responds to STP's specific employment challenges--including limited job creation, skills mismatches, weak employment intermediation, low firm productivity, and constrained access to finance--through a coordinated package of investments that address both the supply and demand sides of the labor market. Component 1 will strengthen the institutional ecosystem for technical skills development and public employment services. Component 2 will directly support youth to unlock productive pathways to wage employment, self-employment, and entrepreneurship. Component 3 will ensure effective project implementation and learning, while Component 4 will provide a rapid response mechanism in case of crisis. By reinforcing systems while delivering scalable interventions, the project aims to improve labor market outcomes at scale in STP.
