According to the WB, the development objective is to improve market access and enhance the climate resilience of selected Family Farmer beneficiaries in Paraiba.
The proposed operation will promote inclusive and climate-resilient rural development in the State of Paraiba by strengthening sustainable family farming, improving market access, and expanding essential rural infrastructure and services. The Project is structured into four components. Component 1 will support climate-resilient, diversified, and sustainable production systems for family farmers. It will co-finance investment plans, promote renewable energy and digital inclusion, support the conservation and ecological recovery of degraded areas, and improve access to markets and value addition through support to producer organizations and small-scale associative enterprises. Component 2 will reduce climate vulnerability and improve basic rural infrastructure through investments in the rehabilitation of rural roads to enhance accessibility and resilience. Component 3 will strengthen the technical and organizational capacities of rural families, producer organizations, and service providers to sustain climate-smart production, improve environmental management, and ensure effective service delivery. Component 4 will support overall project coordination, fiduciary and safeguards compliance, monitoring and evaluation, and adaptive implementation.COMPONENT 1 - STRENGTHENING SUSTAINABLE FAMILY FARMING PRODUCTIONSubcomponent 1.1 - Innovations for more productive and resilient family farming production systemsSubcomponent 1.2 - Support for increased productivity and market access for family farmers' organizationsSubcomponent 1.3 - Environmental management and recovery initiatives COMPONENT 2 - IMPROVING RURAL ACCESSIBILITY AND REDUCING CLIMATE VULNERABILITYCOMPONENT 3 - TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND CAPACITY BUILDING FOR BENEFICIARIES, PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS, AND POLICY DIALOGUECOMPONENT 4 - PROJECT MANAGEMENT, M&E, INFORMATION MANAGEMENT, COMMUNICATION, AND CAPACITY BUILDING FOR IMPLEMENTING AGENCIES
