According to bank's website, the approved project aims to support the strengthening of Mauritania's adaptive social safety net systems. Building on the achievements of the Mauritania Social Safety Net Project II, the project will improve the social registry, the timeliness of payments, enhance targeting and modularity to better respond to the diverse needs of poor and vulnerable households across the country. With a focus on dynamic entry and exit strategies and promoting economic inclusion, the project will increase resilience to economic shocks and climate change while expanding targeted support for women, youth, refugees, the elderly, people with disabilities, and both rural and urban populations.
