According to the Bank’s website, the objective of this project is to produce graduates with market relevant skills in priority sectors.
Tanzania’s challenge is to generate the needed high and medium level skilled personnel for productive jobs to foster the country’s vision towards industrialization and enhance the productivity of low skilled youth to leverage the population dividend. There is a mismatch between the skills demanded by employers, qualifications supplied by training institutions and emerging skills for the future. There is an urgent need for a strengthened system for skills development.
According to the Program Information Document (PID), the overall cost for the Government program (p) is estimated at US$729.34 million. The PforR (P) will contribute US$300 million over 7 years. The detailed expenditure framework will be developed during preparation.
