Project Description
If provided by the financial institution, the Early Warning System Team writes a short summary describing the purported development objective of the project and project components. Review the complete project documentation for a detailed description.

According to bank's website, the canceled project aims to support Yemen in strengthening a Climate and Water Information Management System in selected water basins to enhance sustainable and resilient water resources management and development. It will support a comprehensive assessment of the enabling environment for the strengthening, upgrading and revitalization of the CWIMS. This will include an assessment of existing data collection infrastructure, the various databases, along with capacity in order to identify gaps at decentralized levels of the National Water Resources Authority (NWRA) and other relevant institutions. Investment plans will be developed to address the gaps identified in the capacity assessment. The project will also support the review and development of inter-institutional rules and regulations at basin level to improve existing water resources data water management in Yemen, and the development of a cloud-based data repository which can be populated and accessed by relevant institutions. Hard and software needed for the establishment of these activities will also be financed by the project, as well as a capacity building component to strengthen the technical capacities of decentralized institutions in using these systems and the development of end-user products.

Early Warning System Project Analysis
