According to the WB, the development objective is to enhance access to resilient infrastructure and increase institutional capacity in Jujuy to support economic development and job creation in mining and related sectors, and to act effectively in case of an eligible crisis or emergency.
The project aims to support the economic development and job creation in mining and other productive sectors in Jujuy. Strategic infrastructure needed to enable this development in Jujuy will be supported through four key components: (1) development of the road network to improve connectivity; (2) support for the mining sector by strengthening sustainability, oversight, training, and transparency in mining operations; (3) promotion of intermodality and technological development, including the multimodal logistics center and a Technological and Knowledge Node; and (4) enhancement of road network maintenance through multi-year planning, technical training, community engagement, and models for private sector participation.
