Project Description
If provided by the financial institution, the Early Warning System Team writes a short summary describing the purported development objective of the project and project components. Review the complete project documentation for a detailed description.

According to the Bank’s website, the objective of this project is to increase earning opportunities for targeted youth in Eswatini.

The project will respond to the main challenges that face the country with regards to providing meaningful personal development prospects to Eswatini’s youth. Therefore, the project will step in to create first jobs and earning opportunities through economic inclusion interventions. The project will create employment opportunities for targeted youth building on technical work, existing initiatives, and leveraging other partners’ support to this sector by investing in value-added interventions that can operate at scale, particularly for vulnerable youth groups, like young women or youth with disabilities. The activities will engage youth along the agriculture value chain, generating both income and improved food and nutrition. Through climate-smart agricultural practices, and strong delivery systems, beneficiaries can build resilience against weather-related disruptions. Project success will be measured through a set of strategic indicators that would look at the success rate of the project interventions, sustainability of the beneficiaries’ activities over time and increase in the earnings of the beneficiaries.
