According to the UN website, Unleashing the Blue Economy of the Caribbean (UBEC) Project is a World Bank-driven sustainable development partnership for the period 2022-2050 aimed at establishing a regional and national investment platform to further develop the Caribbean blue economy and promote sustainable and integrated use of marine resources for economic growth, improved livelihoods, and job generation while preserving the health of ocean systems. UBEC engages various blue economy sectors and welcomes new partners and areas of engagement. UBEC draws on previous World Bank partnerships in the Caribbean region, such as the Caribbean Regional Oceanscape Project (CROP).
