Project Description

The Project Information Document (PID) outlines the proposal for a loan to the Government of Belize (GoB) for the Belize COVID-19 Emergency Response Project (P177987). This Project is prepared under the terms and guidelines defined by the COVID-19 Strategic Preparedness and Response Program (SPRP) using the Multiphase Programmatic Approach (MPA), approved by the WBG’s Board of Executive Directors on April 2, 2020, and the Additional Financing (AF) to the SPRP for vaccines approved on October 13, 2020. The primary objective of the project is to enable affordable and equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines and help ensure effective vaccine deployment through vaccination system strengthening.

According to the bank documents, the environmental and social risk rating is Substantial.
