According to bank documents, the project objective is to strengthen Sudan’s national statistical system to produce and disseminate official data and promote usage of statistics for evidence-based policy-making.
The project has four components:
Institutional Reform and Human Capacity Strengthening
• National Strategy for the Development of Statistics (NSDS)
• Statistics Legal and Institutional Framework
• Statistics Advocacy
• ICT and Statistical Infrastructure
• Human Capacity Development
Data Production and Dissemination
• Household based surveys. This include National Household Budget and Poverty Survey (including modules on labor force and IDPs), and rapid surveys to track living conditions more regularly.
• Improve price data
• Revise/upgrade National Accounts
• Administrative data
• Data Dissemination
• Use new technologies for data collection
