According to the bank's website, the development objectives of the project are to: "(i) strengthen the institutional and technical capacity of selected local governments to deliver sustainable water supply and sanitation services under the federal systems set-forth in Nepal’s 2015 constitution and ii) increase sustainable access to improved and safe water supply and wastewater management services, and enhance integrated watershed management in participating local governments."
