The development objective of this DPO is to support the government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic in preventing households from slipping into poverty and vulnerability, preventing job losses, supporting businesses, and supporting key structural reforms for a sustainable recovery and growth. The DPO will support reforms aimed at catalyzing private sector investment, supporting energy sector fiscal and operational sustainability, fostering fiscal decentralization, and increasing competitiveness of the agriculture sector, which will boost the main livelihood of the poor and serve as an anchor for more diversified economic growth.
