According to bank documents, the project aims to prevent, detect and respond to the threat posed by COVID-19 and strengthen national systems for public health preparedness in Gabon. It has the following components: 

  • Component 1: Emergency COVID-19 Response
  • Component 2: Supporting National and Sub-national, Prevention and Preparedness
  • Component 3: Project Implementation and Monitoring

The World Bank has classified this project as having Substantial environmental and social risks.
