According to the Bank's website, this project provides financing to the Republic of Tajikistan to establish an early childhood development programme to improve school readiness for young children.
Environmental and social risks will be re-assessed at the time of appraisal, and a concept stage Environmental & Social Risk Summary has been created but is not available online. According to the Bank, the main risks associated with the project relate to the ongoing conflict in certain parts of the country, poverty and unemployment that disproportionately affect women, difficulties of participation for poor households, and weak capacity of the Republic of Tajikistan in coordinating the project.
