According to the bank, the objective of the project is to improve the climate resilience of Samoa's road network and in the event of an eligible crisis or emergency, to provide an immediate response to the eligible crisis or emergency. The project components include sectoral and spatial planning tools involves technical assistance that will improve the way that climate change is addressed in Samoa's road sector. The second component involves design and construction of identified priority road assets to improve their resilience to climate related hazards and/or events. The third component will provide funding to support institutional and regulatory reforms for road sector asset management and maintenance.
ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF WORLD BANK
The World Bank Inspection Panel is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who believe they are likely to be, or have been, adversely affected by a World Bank-financed project.
