The Costa Rican Government has identified areas where it needs to fill data and census information. This project henceforth is a component of activities undertaken by the Government to increase knowledge of socioeconomic and demographic information. The main objective stated by the World Bank is to improve statistical information provided by the National Institute of Statistics and Census (known as INEC per its Spanish acronym) through the implementation of an Integrated System of Household Surveys.
Technical assistance through the proposed Trust Fund for Statistical Capacity Building totaling US$0.39 million; part of a Government of Costa Rica project with a global budget of US$1,437,640.
ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF WORLD BANK
The World Bank Inspection Panel is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who believe they are likely to be, or have been, adversely affected by a World Bank-financed project.
