This project provides financing to the government of Uzbekistan for improvements to select urban infrastructure and public spaces in participating medium-size cities, and strengthening institutional capacity to improve and maintain local infrastructure and services.
According to Bank documents, components include upgrading public spaces and street networks, and restoring heritage buildings. The cities of Yangiyul, Kagan, and Chartak have been selected as pilot cities for this project.
