Zimbabwe is currently facing additional vulnerability challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, which is now affecting practically every country in the world. The proposed operation aims to address the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, especially in supply of medical equipment and supplies as well as training of targeted frontline responders and provision of handwashing facilities. The proposed project is in response to the Government of Zimbabwe's request submitted to the Bank in March 2020 and it is consistent with the Bank's and the GoZ's efforts to address the enormous COVID-19-related challengesfacing the country, particularly in urban and peri-urban areas.
Funding is UAC 10,000,000.
