Project Description

The main components of the entire project include:

  1. Civil Works for;
    1. the Rehabilitation of the Chinsali - Nakonde road section (210km) in Zambia;
    2. Rehabilitation of 50km of feeder roads and
    3. Complementary Initiatives/ Social Infrastructure
  2. Consulting Services for
    1. Design Review and Supervision of the Works;
    2. Sensitisation of project area inhabitants on HIV/AIDS, STIs, Communicable Diseases and Environmental Protection;
    3. project Audits - Financial and Technical;
    4. Monitoring and Evaluation of Project Impacts;
    5. Road Safety and
    6. Sector Studies - Feasibility and Detailed Engineering Design of Feira crossing in Luangwa (Zambezi River).

  4. Resettlement and Compensation
  5. Institutional Support.

The civil works for the Chinsali - Nakonde road section will be implemented in two lots, namely, Lot 1: Isoka - Nakonde (110km) and Lot 2: Chinsali - Isoka (100km). The civil works are to be implemented in parallel, estimated construction time of 30 months (2.5 years) for each.
