According to AfDB website, a grant of UA 1 million from TSF Pillar III resources has been approved by RDVP to finance the operation. This is a regional project that will be implemented as a Regional Public Good (RPG) over a period of 18 months from June 2020 to December 2021. It aims o build the capacity of the G5 Sahel countries to curb and stop the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, and to boost the resilience of vulnerable communities. Its specific objectives are to: (i) build epidemiological surveillance and case management capacity; (ii) ensure the availability of medical products for the prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19; (iii) ensure the implementation of social protection measures in target communities, including refugees and IDPs; (iv) enhance the resilience of food and nutrition systems, and (v) ensure communication and coordination.
