Project Description
If provided by the financial institution, the Early Warning System Team writes a short summary describing the purported development objective of the project and project components. Review the complete project documentation for a detailed description.

According to the bank website, the project consists of upgrading of El Wak–Rhamu (142km) section of the corridor, construction of town loop roads, flood mitigation measures, provision of a virtual axle load weighing station and construction of access roads. The Project also includes the construction/rehabilitation of socio-economic amenities/ infrastructures for water, health, education, and livestock within the Project area. The Project also has components which are related to improving trade and regional integration, project implementation, monitoring and evaluation; skills empowerment of unemployed youth; enhancement of road safety; and capacity building and institutional strengthening.
