According to the Bank’s website, the Boards of Directors of the Bank Group approved the proposal to award: (i) a UA 12,825,000 ADF grant and a UA 28,025,000 ADF loan to Burkina Faso; (ii) an ADF grant of UA 12,500,000 to Guinea; (iii) an ADF grant of UA 12,500,000 and an ADF loan of UA 25,000,000 to Mali; (iv) an ADF loan of UA 25,000,000 to Niger; (v) an ADF loan of UA 5,520,000 to Senegal; (vi) a TSF grant of UA 3,000,000 and an ADF grant of UA 4,500,000 to Togo; and (viii) an ADF grant of UA 5,000,000 to the Permanent Interstate Committee for Drought Control in the Sahel (CILSS) to help finance the program. The appraisal mission for Project 2 of the program was conducted for 9 countries, including The Gambia, Guinea-Bissau and Chad components. The components for these three countries were withdrawn from the appraisal report before the project was negotiated due to insufficient funds under ADF-15 for these countries (paragraph 26 of the Appraisal Report).An addendum to the appraisal report, focusing on the use of ADF- 16 resources to finance the components for The Gambia and Chad, was approved on 14 July 2023.
