Project Description
If provided by the financial institution, the Early Warning System Team writes a short summary describing the purported development objective of the project and project components. Review the complete project documentation for a detailed description.

According to the bank provided information, the overall objective of this intervention is to rebuild the productive capital of households by promoting "emergency agriculture", in particular by ensuring animal health, the rebuilding of livestock and the distribution of inputs and small agricultural implements to households affected by the floods. This intervention will help rebuild the socio-economic resilience of agro-pastoral households and strengthen the food production capacities of vulnerable households affected by rain and river flooding. The aim is to provide a direct and immediate response to the health emergency, in order to support the efforts of the Congolese government and its partners.

The targeting of beneficiaries will be carried out through a graduated and sequenced approach to households in the provinces of Mayo Kebbi Est (MKE) and Mayo Kebbi Ouest (MKO), specifically targeting those most affected by the floods, and if funds permit, the province of Mandoul will also benefit.

The number of beneficiaries of the project is 15,000 households (or 90,000 people), including Sudanese refugees distributed as follows: 500 very vulnerable households will receive small ruminant kits (goats, billy goats, livestock feed) -250 households in MKE and 250 in MKO2; 500 vulnerable agro-pastoral households benefit from deworming and vaccination of animals (against anthrax, blackleg and hemorrhagic septicemia); 500 highly vulnerable agricultural households benefit from market gardening seeds and small agricultural equipment kits) -250 households in the MKE, 250 in the MKO; 1250 vulnerable households receive rain-fed and off-season seeds (maize) -625 households in the MKO and 625 in the MKE; 1250 vulnerable households receive rain-fed and off-season seeds (rice) -625 households in the MKE and 625 in the MKO.

Contact Information
This section aims to support the local communities and local CSO to get to know which stakeholders are involved in a project with their roles and responsibilities. If available, there may be a complaint office for the respective bank which operates independently to receive and determine violations in policy and practice. Independent Accountability Mechanisms receive and respond to complaints. Most Independent Accountability Mechanisms offer two functions for addressing complaints: dispute resolution and compliance review.
