According to the bank provided information, this PPF will study in detail, the feasibility and how to implement SLREAP which is proposed to entail: eight (8) 66/33kV substations, two (2) 33/11kV substations, more than one hundred and fifty (150) 33/0.4kV distribution substations, more than 350km of 66kV Transmission Lines, more than 400km of 33kV Distribution networks, and about 50,000 customer connections, and street lightening for about 60 identified communities.
The proposed project is consistent with the Medium-term National Development Plan (MTNDP, 2024- 2030). The proposed project directly supports three key energy sector objectives of the Government outlined in the MTNDP: (a) electrification of all district headquarters which is a key element of the country's electrification strategy; (b) increasing rural electrification through engagement and involvement of key stakeholders including private sector; and (c) improving the financial performance of the sector for sustainable development.
