According to the bank provided information, the proposed project will finance advisory services and capacity building activities to address institutional capacity for improved statistical production and effective public expenditure management. The project will be structured around three components to support the Government's efforts in addressing these challenges; namely: (i) Strengthening institutional capacity for provision of quality and timely statistics; (ii) Strengthening capacity for public expenditure management; and (iii) Project management.
The total Project cost is estimated at UA447,059, including contingencies but net of taxes and duties. The total Bank's contribution is UA380,000 to be funded under the MIC TAF. The Government contribution is estimated at UA 67,059(15% of the total project cost)and will be provided in the form of expenses related to staffing of the project management, annual audits, and contingencies.. The project is to support to the Government's efforts to ensure continued good governance, efficiency, accountability, and transparency in the public resources use. These include implementation of and Integrated Financial Management System (IFMIS) and procurement reforms that eliminated the duplication of services provided by different agencies. The project also supports the provision of quality and timely statistics that inform evidence-based planning and decision-making for the well-being of the Seychelles people.
