According to the bank website, the project objective is to improve the availability of and access to food for targeted beneficiaries affected by COVID-19. The committee has identified several priority interventions to be implemented in the short-term of which food relief is considered very important and thus the intervention will be only a food relief support.

This component would finance delivery of basic food supplies to 37,000 persons. A basic package of food rations would be procured, prepared and delivered by the government through Egypt Food Bank. The Egyptian Food Bank package cost around EGP 200(USD 13.2) per carton of food.
