Project Description

According to bank provided information, the development objective of PARA is to sustainably increase climate resilience and the incomes of rural communities, particularly women and young people, in the south of the Central African Republic through integrated agroecological systems. More specifically, the project aims to support the large-scale deployment of climate-smart agriculture based on regenerative agriculture, syntropic agroforestry and sustainable land management; strengthen the resilience of production systems to climate risks and improve food security; stimulate the transformation of agricultural and food systems and product distribution to enhance the economic and social inclusion of target populations; and strengthen the skills and adaptive capacities of farmers and associated actors in response to climate change. The project will also promote the economic integration of rural youth through access to more resilient productive activities, green jobs, skills development and entrepreneurship support.
