The main objective of the IDB operation is to promote inclusive growth and productivity by fostering innovation in the private sector. The purpose of the program is to jumpstart economic growth by building an ecosystem that supports dynamic entrepreneurship and innovation in MSMEs. The specific objectives are to: (i) promote innovation and productivity among established MSMEs with high growth potential; (ii) promote sustainable and inclusive growth in scalable startups; and (iii) create a sustainable pipeline of high-growth potential startups. Within these objectives, entrepreneurship and innovation activities that tackle gender and climate issues will be targeted and implemented
ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IADB
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IIC is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment.
