The objective of the CT is to develop technical studies of alternatives and feasibility analyses of structural and non-structural interventions for the improvement of the comprehensive management of MSW in the short and medium term, identifying actions for its regionalized management, under principles of circular economy and climate mitigation, with emphasis on the closure of landfills and the definition of regional sanitary landfills with methane capture and Comprehensive Waste Treatment Centers (CTIR), and with a focus on the reduction of waste generation, behavior change, gender equity, socio-productive inclusion of vulnerable groups and the promotion of productive chains for the recovery and transformation of usable waste.
ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IADB
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IIC is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment.
