According to the IADB, the general objective of the operation is to strengthen the institutional capacity of the Ecuadorian public sector to guarantee innovation and sustainability in agriculture. The specific objectives are (i) Achieve timely execution of operation EC-L1303, from its first years of implementation; (ii) Deepen knowledge about the Ecuadorian agricultural sector, to facilitate evidence-based political and financial decision-making; and (iii) design a comprehensive management model for the Rural Land Registry and strengthen capacities for its implementation.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IADB
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IIC is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment.
