Project Description
If provided by the financial institution, the Early Warning System Team writes a short summary describing the purported development objective of the project and project components. Review the complete project documentation for a detailed description.

According to the IADB, the objective is to carry out an exchange of experiences and knowledge of the Ministry of Labor of Ecuador and the team of professionals from the Ministry of Labor (MDT) and Ministry of Economy and Finance of Ecuador with the aim of improving the capacities of the MDT that is currently in the process of designing a new loan operation with the Bank. The EC-1284 project "Support for the Commitment to Employment for the effectiveness of employment policies" aims to contribute to improving labor insertion in quality jobs, focusing on groups with greater barriers to labor insertion.
The project has 3 components. The first aims to create tools to strengthen the identification of gaps in the labor market, the second to consolidate the training and certification system and the third seeks to strengthen and expand the Public Employment Service. With this initiative it is intended that the public servants of the Ministry of Labor of Ecuador can approach and learn first-hand the experience of design and execution of a similar program in Colombia also financed by the IDB This is the "Program to strengthen employment policies" (CO-L1250) and in particular how job training policies and job skills certification are implemented.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IADB

The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IIC is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment. You can submit a complaint by sending an email to MICI@iadb.org. You can learn more about the MICI and how to file a complaint at http://www.iadb.org/en/mici/mici,1752.html (in English) or http://www.iadb.org/es/mici/mici,1752.html (Spanish).
