Project Description

According to the IADB, the objective is to integrate innovative approaches in the areas of sanitation and water security into the preparation and execution of operations in coastal communities of the Dominican Republic (DR) and the Greater Santo Domingo area, with a focus on enhancing service resilience and developing targeted strategies for vulnerable populations. Specifically, the initiative will support operations DR-L1171, DR-L1172, and DR-L1158, as well as the preparation of the Coastal Cities Program - Phase IV, while simultaneously strengthening the capacities of national institutions and stakeholders to apply these approaches in other projects.

The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IIC is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment.
