Project Description

According to the IADB, the objective of this Technical Cooperation (TC) is to contribute to strengthening the planning, design, and preparation of sanitation investments in Latin America and the Caribbean by promoting innovative, digital, and climate-resilient solutions through supporting the organization of LATINOSAN 2026 and the enhancement of technological tools applied to sanitation projects. Specific objectives are: (i) to support the Government of the Dominican Republic in the preparation and execution of LATINOSAN 2026, ensuring effective planning, institutional coordination, and broad regional participation; (ii) to develop and apply an AI-integrated version of the SaniHUB basic network module (Module 1) for the automated design of sewer networks in at least one city under the coastal sanitation programs (DR-L1158, DR-L1165 or DR-L1172); and (iii) to strengthen and disseminate innovative digital and contractual approaches--particularly SaniHUB, FIDIC-based contracts, and results-based models--through workshops and regional knowledge sharing.
