According to the IADB, the proposed initiative aims to address challenges of rapid demographic change, specifically in physical and mental health and welfare of older people, such as long-term care, frailty prevention, skill training, employment generation, and entrepreneurship, applying breakthrough innovations and disruptive technologies and improving access to health services and the quality of aging. The specific objectives will be to pilot innovative solutions to enhance the well-being of adults over 60 living in poor and vulnerable conditions and to design the payment-for-results scheme toward sustainability and scalability.The proposed initiative aims to address challenges of rapid demographic change applying breakthrough innovations and disruptive technologies and improving access to health services and the quality of aging. ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IADB
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IIC is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment.
