CAF -Banco de Desarrollo de América Latina- otorgó un préstamo a largo plazo de USD 450 millones al programa Ciudades Modernas e Infraestructura para la Integración Territorial Sostenible, con el fin de apoyar acciones estratégicas de política pública y de alto impacto que permitan mejorar la conectividad de los territorios en un escenario de posconflicto, promover el desarrollo urbano sostenible y optimizar los sistemas de transporte público de Colombia.


Los fondos, gestionados por el Ministerio de Hacienda y Crédito Público y el Departamento Nacional de Planeación (DNP), están alineados con las iniciativas del Gobierno en diferentes áreas del desarrollo urbano, como son la creación de ciudades sostenibles, la mejora de la movilidad urbana y la mayor conectividad territorial para lograr una integración urbano-rural que contribuya a aumentar la productividad y a consolidar a las ciudades como motores económicos del país.
