El objetivo de la CT es evaluar el efecto de intervenciones cognitivo-conductuales sobre la reincidencia criminal en el sistema penitenciario del Estado de Espirito Santo, Brasil. Este proyecto ha sido seleccionado para recibir financiamiento del Development Effectiveness Intelligence Fund (DEIF) mediante un riguroso proceso competitivo en el que participaron representantes de VPS, VPC y SPD. El DEIF apoya proyectos que generan conocimiento y abordan brechas estrategicas en la efectividad del desarrollo mediante evaluaciones de impacto, analisis de factores de ejecucion e iniciativas para mejorar la efectividad. Este experimento contribuira a cerrar brechas de conocimiento sobre la efectividad de intervenciones para la prevencion de la reincidencia criminal en America Latina. Aunque existen multiples evaluaciones en este tema, los estudios empiricos en la region son predominantemente cuasi experimentales, con solo un experimento aleatorizado publicado, basado en una muestra pequena, en Honduras (n=100; Capellan et al., 2020).
