The objective of this Technical Cooperation (TC) is to support the Brazilian government in the implementation of the new consumption taxation model, based on dual VAT, specifically in the design of models for: (i) VAT collection (CBS, at the federal level and IBS at the state and municipal levels); (ii) distribution of the IBS collection; and (iii) functioning of the Federative Council, composed of representatives of the states and municipalities, which will be created to administer the IBS.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IDB / IDB INVEST
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IDB Invest)-funded project.
