The bank states that the operation aims at providing support to the Government of Brazil, through the Ministry of Finance, to structure the Green Climate Fund Country Program. The operation will deliver the appropriate governance and instruments, taking into account the national circumstances and institutional requirements, to access finance from the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and other sources of funding and assist the ministry in taking on its role as the National Designated Authority (NDA) for the GCF. Support will also be provided to engage other ministries part of the national GCF institutional and financial arrangements in the activities related to the NDA. The TC will evaluate financial instruments to support the implementation of its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) strategy (under development), including the review of sources of funds (national and international) to assess the potential role of the GCF in this context.
ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IADB
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IIC is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment.
