The overall development objective of the operation is to contribute to improving the health conditions of the population of Piaui by strengthening the public health services network, ensuring greater access, quality, and effectiveness. Its specific objectives are: (i) to expand the range of services in the outpatient and hospital-based specialized care network for medium and high complexity cases; (ii) to provide specialized and regionalized care to vulnerable populations, with a particular focus on mental health, the elderly, and individuals with autism spectrum disorder; and (iii) to modernize health management through digital transformation, training for professionals and managers, and the implementation of care pathways and clinical protocols.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IDB / IDB INVEST
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IDB Invest)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IDB Invest is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment.
