The overall development objective for this transaction is to strengthen the integration of energy generation from Variable Renewable Sources (VRS) in Brazil's Northeast region into the national integrated system, promoting private capital to decarbonize energy supply services. The specific development objectives include: (i) expand the transfer capacity of the Northeast region's electric power grids; (ii) expand the financing of electric power systems that promote greater flexibility in the Brazilian electricity system; and (iii) support the implementation of energy storage technologies.
