According to the IADB, the objective is to support to the Plurinational Government of Bolivia in the preparation of comprehensive programs for the sustainable development of Amazonian, biodiverse, and metropolitan cities. The specific objectives are: (i) to develop local urban development plans for Amazonian cities that incorporate eco-city principles such as strategic planning, sustainable mobility, energy efficiency, integration of green and blue infrastructure, Amazon rainforest protection, a circular economy, and inclusive management and participation; (ii) to develop comprehensive urban park designs based on a nature-based solutions approach, biodiversity preservation, valorization of historical and natural heritage, and disaster and climate change risk management; and (iii) to strengthen the institutional capacities of local governments in sustainable urban planning and management.
ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IADB
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IIC is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment.
